Woodlands Day Nursery and Preschool provide a high quality, safe and inclusive educational setting. Our ethos is to deliver the Early Years Curriculum through effective methods of teaching. Woodlands Day Nursery & Preschool believes children develop best through facilitated child- led learning, and learning through play. We promote individual skills and decision-making, and give children access to facilities and equipment at all times, under the care and guidance of our specialist staff. At the Woodlands we believe in a natural holistic play based approach to learning. This enables staff to enhance the child’s learning and not interrupt their play but to support them in their play. This allows ownership of learning as they become independent learners.
At the Woodlands Day Nursery & Preschool, we pride ourselves on having a leadership team with extensive teaching experience in providing outstanding practise in childcare and educational settings. We have a strong belief that all children should have the opportunity to enjoy learning and develop to their full potential in all areas of the curriculum.
Holiday Club
The Woodlands Day Nursery & Preschool offers school holiday care for children aged between 3 and 11. We offer an extensive range of enjoyable indoor and outdoor activities designed to keep children engaged, motivated and highly challenged throughout the school holiday periods.

What Makes Us Different
Woodlands Day Nursery is a small and homely 23 place setting. Our dedicated and experienced team provide a safe, secure and happy environment which enables the children to grow in confidence, in order to develop the ability to take risks and become successful and independent learners.
Having had vast amounts of experience of the implementation of the many different tracking and learning approaches, we believe that children make the best progress when they learn through their own interests. This is why at The Woodlands we use an 'in the moment' teaching and learning strategy to stimulate and enhance children's learning and ultimately progress.
We do this by close observations of children and by building positive relationships between the child and key worker, therefore giving the key worker the opportunity to provide personalised learning opportunities.

We offer a personalised settling in procedure, providing as many settling in visits as required for your baby.
2 and 3 Year Old Room
Our carefully designed toddler room has been organised to develop independence.
Preschool
Our preschool room is led by a qualified early years teacher, who supports the team in developing good practice, tracking the progress of each child and identifying the next steps of each individual child.
